Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has said the festival has booked its headline acts for 2027, while ruling out Madonna as one of them.
Asked about speculation that the pop star could make her Glastonbury debut, Eavis told BBC Radio 4’s PM programme: “No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that.”
She added that the festival had secured three other headliners and that plans were coming together well.
Madonna has never performed at Glastonbury. Rumours of a possible appearance grew after the singer suggested she was planning something significant in the UK next summer.
Eavis said most stories about Glastonbury’s line-up were untrue and that rumours were usually wrong.
She declined to discuss whether Taylor Swift could appear at the festival.
Glastonbury will return in June 2027 after taking a fallow year this summer. Tickets are expected to go on sale in November.
Last year’s festival was headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, while Sir Rod Stewart performed in the legends slot.
Eavis also used the interview to call for greater support for music education and smaller music venues, which she said were important to the development of future festival headliners.
